Company Language Training Programmes -FAQs
How do we start?
Consider 2 essential areas:
What resources and skills do you have at the moment ?
- You may already have skills in the company which you need to identify and evaluate.
What level of language do your staff need to get to ?
- You need to know the level of language your staff have to reach to function effectively. Do they need just to introduce themselves and have a basic conversation ? or do they need to make detailed presentations and respond to in-depth questioning ?
How long will it take ?
This depends on:
- the starting level of the candidate(s)
- the level they need to attain to function effectively
- the type of training they undertake - intensive or extensive training
- how much contact they have with the language - can they schedule a visit to the relevant country ?
How much will I learn ?
This depends on:
- you - and how much you are able to put into the learning
- how much practice you can have outside the lessons
- the amount of contact you can have with the language, through work, newspapers, the Internet, phone apps, etc.
- the kind of training you do - the more intensively you train the quicker you will progress
I was never good at languages at school - will I be able to learn this time ?
Training with Linguarama is targeted at actively helping you to use the language you need for your job. Instead of learning lots of rules and not speaking the language, we help you to start using the language straight away in situations relevant to your work. It is very motivating to see practical and useful results right from the start. You will learn language you can use in the office, on the telephone, in social situations and when sending emails.
We also adapt how we train to your learning style so you can make the fastest possible progress.
Come into a Linguarama training centre and try our approach for yourself. We would be happy to organise a free demonstration lesson to show you what you can learn and the progress you can make.
What factors affect the success of a language training programme ?
Of course this is affected by many factors but the key ones are:
- motivation
- support of line manager(s)
- being given enough time to learn
- setting realistic objectives and reviewing progress towards them
- matching the trainer to the learners
- learning activities that are relevant and tailored to the learners
How much will it cost ?
This depends on the type of training you do and the level your staff need to reach to operate effectively in the language. Linguarama can assess your current level or that of your staff and let you know the cost to reach the required level.
